End of a Season

So this was our first season with The Moorings in the BVI base and it was amazing! We were the busiest boat being the only crewed new 50 foot cat this year. We did 30 charters and met all kinds of great people. We made a lot of friends everywhere we went and can't wait to get back next season. In the meantime we have to get the boat to St Lucia for hurricane season...well we have to take the boat there from now until mid October. We will be chillin in St Lucia keeping an eye on the boats there making sure nothing gets "taken". Everyone else is taking vacation time but we figured what better place to spend OUR time off than exploring the islands there! We have some friends coming to visit for a bit while we are there and The Moorings asked us to fly to Annapolis to work the boat show this year! So we are super stoked about that! Annapolis has the second largest boat show in the world next to Ft Lauderdale so that should be awesome. We will be showing off the new 58 foot catamaran... hosting tours and handing our canapes and such.... it will be a nice change of scenery being back up there. We worked on a boat there for about a month and it was really cool being in different sailing grounds. Not that we will be sailing but I did love the town there so can't wait to go back! So for now we are island hopping our way down to St Lucia!

5 on 5 off

So for the past month or so we have had a really nice schedule...it’s 5 days out on charter then about 5 days off charter. In that time off we have managed to squeeze in a few kiteboarding lessons, a Super Bowl party and a great time out with friends. We’ve some really good charters with great people onboard and it’s nice that we’ve been consistently busy. Not all crewed boats have the same schedule. Being that we are the only boat in the fleet of our kind right now, we have one of the busiest schedules of the year.
Our beloved Willy T is here to stay!! After many rumors of the boat needing to be relocated to the USVI, they finally announced that she isn’t going anywhere!! It’s a fun way to start a charter and it definitely helps break the ice and helps us get to know our guest very well straight away!!πŸ˜‰

This isn’t our boat but it’s pretty much identical so this is what we look like when sailing around the beautiful waters. It’s a Leapord 5000 which is a 50ft sailing catamaran but it’s not a crewed yacht. A couple of differences wouldn’t be noticeable from this distance....like we have teak on our boat and they don’t and we have a dinghy lift instead of davits like the bareboats have.

We had some family visit and of course we had to show some of the hot spots like The Baths of Virgin Gorda!

In Anegada they have these Mokes that you can rent for the day to drive around the island if you want to fit 4 people together instead of just 2 on a moped. They have nice speakers and everything!

Ok ready to learn to fly a kite!! Lol when the instructor asks have you ever flown a kite before...and you’re like No....you kind of feel stupid...or at least I did.....like how have I gone 35 years and not flown a real kite before...πŸ€”πŸ˜†

On the left there’s a few of us learning how the kite works. We focused on this the first day because there was not a lot of wind and it was also coming from the wrong direction. On the right over there with the green kite is a friend of ours who clearly has already had several lessons and is showing off☺️

This popular dive and snorkel site is the Indians! It’s a bunch of rocks in the middle of the water that has a nice big population and assortment of different fishies to see.

Back on the dock we wandered through town....down a back road....through a dodgy looking broken door almost off its hinges....and behold!! A cool bar with a mixologist making specialty Christmas cocktails!! I imagine it’s a cool place at night with all the strings of lights and a DJ.

All dressed up for the Christmas dock party with all the crew 😍 a good time was had by all!

Best Painkillersin the BVI are made at Soggy Dollar on Jost Van Dyke! We never miss an opportunity to have our guests try them😁

Captain has the biggest smile when winds pick up...

Doesn’t look like much but it was a good sail with heavy winds for this place!

Oh look back again!!

The coolest thing that happened on NYE is that we ran into the couple who took us on our Honeymoon charter on their private boat!!!! It was awesome to get to catch up with them and ultimately thank them for showing us the way!!

While boys surf all day.....

My girl and I are beachin it! Joasiahs beach is one of our favorite places to spend some time off. There’s a surf school there so the guys rent boards and we chill on the beach and video them eating it!!πŸ˜‚

Sometimes we can’t anchor at White Bay where Soggy Dollar is located so we anchor in the next bay and take a taxi over. This is the view from up on the hill as we are coming into White Bay. 😍

Sunset. 😎

We headed back to Anegada with some friends to continue our kite surfing lessons. So finally on the water trying to get on a board. Sounds easy enough right?!? Ha!

Sunset in Anegada. We anchored right up front so all the boats are behind us here...

We get all kinds of rainbows hereπŸ˜‰

This was a good one😍

Another day at The Baths with Pete the Pineapple 🍍 he’s my fave

This little sticker thoπŸ₯°πŸ˜☺️

Someone FINALLY jumped from the plank at the Willy T!!!

It’s always fun watching what comes and goes from this marina. Cool pirate ship! We head back out on charter in a couple days so just a bunch of cleaning to be done and grocery shopping for me. Then we get a good 10 days off and we are taking out some more family! Can’t wait!! 😘
